A Trip Down Memory Lane

Tonite was chicken gravy and waffles! ( a true Pennsylvania Dutch meal)

I cooked up a pound of frozen chicken tenders ( chopped up).

I added 1 stick of butter ( don’t kill me…..I need it to make my gravyπŸ€”πŸ˜‚. I also added 2 chicken boullion cubes…

I sautΓ©ed until the chicken was cooked….maybe about 15 minutes……ok this is so hard for me…..I am a dump and pour cook…. and then people want my recipes and I look at them like πŸ‘€πŸ€”

I then added about a cup of flour…..I add it slowly and stir and allow the butter to soak it up………. this prevents lumps in my gravy………. I totally forgot to take pics of my process……I promise, I will try to do better at this πŸ˜‚

Next I added 2 cups of milk…I stirred around to work the butter/flour loose from the chicken…..this is what will thicken our gravy……..I also added 2 cups of water……I tend to cook enough for an army!!! πŸ€”πŸ€”

I am constantly stirring, as I bring my temp up…….I don’t want it to completely boil…….but it needs to be right there to thicken…… now in the meantime, Ash and Uncle Paul have whipped up a double batch of waffles….. a new recipe….I prefer my normal fluffy recipe……but I didn’t want to make them whip egg whitesπŸ€”πŸ€” lesson learned…..if it ain’t broke don’t fix it……

It was very yummy!!! My belly was very happy! As well as my families! Another successful day, checked off……..I even had supper done in plenty of time to go live😍😍 what an accomplishment πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The finished result was quite yummy and took me back as a little girl, knowing if I ate my waffle with chicken gravy, then I could put syrup on one……..as I got older and wiser I realized some butter under that syrup makes it so much better yet 😍😍

And yes, I break my waffle up for myself like I do for kids 😍😍
